33 weeks 1.5 cm and 50% effaced

Hey I am just wondering if any other ladies were ever 33 weeks (or a little earlier or 34 weeks) and 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I went into preterm labor and now those are my stats I guess you could call them. I know everyone is different but I am wondering if I will make it another 6 weeks until my due date. I know everyone is different and some can walk around for months being 1 cm dilated. I am just concerned because I am already halfway effaced. I am hoping to hear some stories of when you went into labor after being 1.5 cm and 50% effaced. And how your baby was. I did get the steroid shots to mature my baby girls lungs. I am just wondering how great of a chance I have of making it another 4 to 6 weeks. Please share :]


Oh yeah..and I lost my mucus plug. I believe I lost all of it but not positive. Cause I lost a big chunk, that's the night I went into preterm labor. Then while in the hospital I went to the bathroom to find another chunk the same size in my underwear. Then after they finally discharged me I lost another big chunk. And haven't had anything since. So I think I lost it all.

Your mucus plug regrows

Ive been 1.5 cent dialated for 2 months and 75% effaced

I heard once you go into labor your mucus plug doesn't grow back. I heard that is what holds your cervix closed and once you dilate it doesn't come back. But did you go into labor to get that way or just on your own?

I went into preterm labor, that is also when i lost my mucus plug. Ive been to l&d more times than you can count mama

Same here, thats why today when i had contractions i was NOT going in...I told my mom UNTIL im slumped over in excruciating pain to the point where i cant move i REFUSE to go back

Same here! The other night when I went into labor my husband was like omg lets go to the hospital your contractions are 5min apart. I was like until I have them for at least an hour that close together I am not going. I want to make sure they are not going to stop. I feel like an idiot going in all the time! Specially when contractions stop when you get there. But after last time they know it's all real lol. I see my doctor tomorrow so I am interested to see what she says.

i was....you can go for weeks dilated and not go into labor. I had preterm labor with both my boys...had it stopped once with my first and twice with my second. With my second i was also on weekly shots of hydoprogesterone to try to keep my body from contracting. Both my sons were born at 37 weeks and very healthy. What does your dr say?

so early on i would go in for EVERYTHING!!! You dont want her to be born too early and then have that thought in the back of your head that you could have prevented it by just going in earlier.

I went into labor at 33 weeks & they didn't stop it. I was gushing blood & they couldn't figure out why. It wasn't worth it to keep her in there and not know what the problem was. So they said at 33 weeks I was far enough a long to not stop it, they ended up breaking my water & I had her that day. She was a NICU baby for 17 days after birth, it was hard & sad.. but she's 2 and a half now and couldn't be happy or healthier!

I am going to see my doctor today for a normal apt. so she is going to check me again and we should know more..hopefully. But they still don't know why I went into labor. All of the tests they did came back negative, no infections nothing. At first one of the doctors thought my uterus was just irritated and contracting for no reason since it wasn't changing my cervix but as the contractions got worse it did change my cervix so they said it was definitely labor I was in. So hopefully today my doctor can give me some good news on what's going to happen. I will post once I know something :] Thank you ladies!

Ok, so I went to the doctor. I am a little bit more effaced than two days ago. But I am still only 1.5 cm dilated. So basically I was just told the usual. Take it easy and no heavy lifting lol. Hope she can hold out. But all the pressure I am feeling, I think she wants out. Haha
