How long will the food I eat have an effect on my breastmilk

posted 3rd Nov
My son gets an upset stomach so easy, so I have been pumping so I can actually eat something I want tonight. How long should I wait to nurse him? I just don't want to upset his little tummy!! Will it be okay to nurse him in the morning?

Edit: I think people were getting confused about my question. I have been eating a very bland diet, and cutting out everything that could be upsetting his stomach. but TONIGHT I am actually eating something I want, I got a mediterranean veggie sandwich and cream of chicken and rice soup from panera bread. I know that sandwich is going to hurt his stomach! So what I am asking, is how long do I need to bottle feed him until the food is out of my system? I have enough milk and formula for atleast 12 hours. is that enough?

You just need to think if you ate anything new, that you havent had while breastfeeding him before. Just use Mylicon drops until you can find the source of the upset belly. It could also be dairy effecting him.. You could start with eliminating that..

Yea I have no idea what it is. I cut out dairy, I cut out everything really except for potatos, rice, and some fruit. He has been doing a little bit better because I have been giving him formula with every other feeding..

but what my question is..How long will the food I eat tonightbe in my breastmilk ? I have enough pumped out and formulafor about 12 hours. Is that enough to get the food I eat out of my breastmilk so it wont hurt his tummy?

I was told if something was upsetting my daughters tummy, to cut out whatever i thought it might be, and don't eat that for 3 days. My LO gets upset an upset tummy when i eat rice.... so that might be doing it? Or maybe it's the formula you use? But yeah..... i still think it takes 3 days
