how do you know what he's using?

posted 3rd Nov
When my son "kicks" I just assume its his leg..but how do you know what body part he's using?..I've heard woman say "Oh I felt her little arm in my rib" or "his head was pushing on my back"...thanks!!

If you feel something small pushing out, its most likely a foot, hand, elbow, knee. But something big is usually the head or butt. You never know for sure though.

I could only tell when Adriana would kick b/c, i would push back on the 'lump' and she would kick back. It was so fun :] Other than that I never knew what I was feeling.

I think it helps to know what position your baby is in, like is he head down or not. Legs kicks were always stronger than elbow shoves and punches for me. And a headbut always felt like just alot of pressure.

haha no problem..it really does confuse me..because when I feel pushes I'm 95% sure its a foot! but when I feel weird bulging pains I have no clue what that could be!!..lol

well, right now since i know he's head down, i know where all his little body parts are, for the most part.

it was harder to tell earlier in my pregnancy tho.

like it sucks because the last ultrasound I had was at 17 weeks(thats when I had the gender ultra sound and everything) and they told me he was breech but IDKwhat he's doing right now

With #1 I pretty much guessed according to her position and such, strangely enough with #2, if I put my hand on the moving part I could feel distinct body parts. (feet, arms, back, head, etc.)

It depends on the baby's position. When it's in my ribs or really high up it's his feet and when it's low down i'm guessing it's hands and elbows. I remember at the end with Connor though he would always stick his butt up and there were no guessing because it was veryyy obvious.

There all twisted and conturted, so i think depending on the side you feel him is what it is. Like when my lower part gets 'kick' its him head butting my cervix, my right side is his butt and legs, left side punches.

At my 16 week, 18 week, and 20 week ultrasound he was breech! I would feel most of the movements and the strong ones down low where he was kicking me. However at about 23 weeks it was higher up and in my ribs! Well when I went to my 24 week appointment my midwife had said he flipped and now he is in my ribs allllll the time!

i could feel him streching out his toes and fingers.........you just know you can feel individual bones spread out...maybe it's because he was head down but his feet were always in my left ribs and his knees underneath my diaphram above my belly.....and his head was leanin tward the right lower side and i could feel his elbows and hands when he would stretch. only probably around 7-9 months tho
