us exactly. we pretty much never spank, ever.

I have an extremely smart and well behaved toddler so I must be doing something right!

Me!! My 2 and 3 year old both. If they do something not bad enough to get spanked, they go to the corner for a few minutes. It wont hurt them and I have well behaved children because I actually discipline. Saying "mommy said no" isnt going to keep them well behaved.

If my daughters talk while in time out or try and get up they get put back adn the time restarts.

They need to get a handle on the animal abuse by their child. That sounds like a little sociopath in the making. & I personally don't agree with spanking.

& 3 is the perfect age for time outs.

I do. a minute or 2 in the corner and she is bobbing out with a "I'm sorry for my behavior". Then she does as she was asked.. or doesn't do what she wasn't supposed to be doing LOL. She also isn't forced to finish her food but she is supposed to say "may I be excused" before leaving the table. we tought her that by asking her to sit back down each time she left without saying it. now she does it everytime.
