What does your toddler eat?

posted 3rd Nov
My son is 15 months and I am getting worried.
He just switched to Lactaid from Prosobee (half and half in his bottle) Is he too big/old alreadyfor drinking from a bottle?
Still eats baby food jars with cereal.
Can eat other foods: cereal, soup, snacks/crackers, LOVES fruit (grapes, bananas, kiwi, strawberrys, apples) bread, noodles, pastas BUT he refuses to eat more than a few and I don't think it's filling him up.   So after he eats that, I give him his rice cereal mixed with jar food (sweet potatoes/chicken, apples/chicken/turkey rice dinner)
He Does not eat meats when we try and give it to him.
Should I be worried about his diet?

He weighs 21 lbs and is 31.5 inches long as of 2 months ago at his 12 month shots drs appt.

I wouldn't be too worried. Sounds like he's doing fine. My kids were done eating baby food by that age, but if thats what he prefers I think it's fine, along with other foods. The foods you listed are pretty healthy.
My kids love peaches, grapes, bananas, pears, carrots, green beans, noodles, beans, yogurt, cheese, sandwiches, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, cereal, waffles, crackers... just try to mix it up and keep offering something until he tries it.

my family told me I was strictly on baby food jars until I was 2 years old, I didn't eat anything else. But, no wonder why I am soo skinny! lol

He has no interest in foods at all and I feel like a bad parent because of this  Everyone tells me he should be off baby food already and he's not even close I don't think?
I should of introduced him and been strict about it a long time ago.

It does not make you a bad parent..just keep at it..you will find something he likes and it will snowball from there..

whew! I'm a little relieved. I just felt like since he isn't really eating a whole bunch of regular food that, that was not good. At least he is willing to try new things!   I'm 5'7 and I have never been over 110 lbs.   I hate it (being boney skinny). After I had Aiden, I breastfeed exclusively and I went under mypre prego weight.

he likes sweets! his dad loves rewarding him with sweet snacks (not candy, twizzlers, fruit snacks)     I get sooo mad at him for it.

My son just turned 17 months and he's not eating baby food at all now. He can and will eat pretty much anything I put in front of him, that boy loves to eat. I also had him off of the bottle by 12 months, so maybe I just started a little earlier than you did. I don't think there's really a right or wrong way to do it, every baby progresses at different times. He'll eat real food when he's ready. I think I started Kale on sandwichesbecause they're easy to eat and then just went from there, introducing new foods all the time.

My daughter is 14 months old and is a baby garbage disposal. She's no longer eating baby food, but she'll eat anything we give her. She has enough teeth now that she can eat harder stuff, such as bigger crackers. She loves chicken, pasta, bread, ravioli, crackers, etc. But again... she eats just about anything we give her!
