hahaha, it's terrible but I'm not completely apposed to that idea.

my sons birthday party, my MIL actually said we should keep some of the toys from him and save them from christmas. im like hello its his bday and those are his damn presents! lol.

One Christmas when I was a kid my mom couldn't afford to get us new gifts at all so she cleaned up all of our dolls and toys, made a special doll bed out of a wooden orange crate for each of us and lined them up all around the entire living room. The only things in the room that were new were the stuffings in our stockings. We LOVED it and it was probably the most memorable Christmas of my childhood. That or the year dad climbed up on the roof and put our sleds up there and left a note saying Santa couldn't fit them down the chimney.

Having said that, if you can afford gifts.....

I'd do it.
