Is anyone else going to leave their baby rear facing till they are 3 or so I am going to have Kale rear facing till he is three.

probably not to 3, but until she reaches the max weight limit, so 35 lbs....

I am going to go until my son outgrows his RF seat at 35 lbs, whenever that is. He is 20 mo now.

Will your car seat handle that much weight rear facing? If not, its not safe.

It all depends on their size and what is safe. There are studies showing that sometimes children that are too tall for their safety seat are sustaining more serious injuries from being rear facing.
If a child is too tall or too heavy the force of their legs against the seat canlead to broken bones & dislocated hips.
So just don't go much over the remommended height limit.

We're planning on Rear-Facing until hopefully at least 4, if not longer.There are car seats on the market now that rear face to 40 or 45 lbs, who knows what will be out in a few years!

theres evidence that RFing too long can be bad too, as they get taller and their bones become more likely to break.......

Really there's not, rear facing is safer for EVERYONE. Either way, I'd rather have my child have a broken bone than a broken neck.

I am getting Kale the new Greco's my ride 165 which has like little built in air bags by his head and also they can be left rear facing till 40 lbs it is a really nice car seat with lifesaving options.
