Biracial???

posted 3rd Nov
So LO will be 75% black & 25% white.
I can't help wondering what he/she will look like. Searching google has helped me none, apparently it's not a big hot topic for anyone these days.

ME: 1/2 black & 1/2 white, but have African American features. My father is dark skinned & my mother is extreamly pale.
BD: African American. He is light skinned. However, his mother is dark and his father is light.

What do you think our child will look like? Just wondering.

& What would he or she be considered as?
Biracial??? Or black???

I don't know what he would he/she would look like. I would consider him/her bi-racial since you are bi-racial.

You'll have a darkie baby more likely then not. My girl is half white half spanish and looks all spanish...

Most even 1/2 black babies are noticably black. I mean not always, its gentic, but from what I see.

Genes are volatile and unpredictable sometimes - you may have a completely white looking baby and that baby's baby will go on to have an extremely dark skinned child, it's happened before.

It's sort of odd to dissect a future human being into percentages of how much of which race they are, your baby is mostly likely to be an in-between between you and the father.. just like it is with most babies, some take after the mother more, some the father, others are a little of both.

My son is half Vietnamese and half white. we were sure he would come out looking totally asian but nope he has blue eyes and light brown hair. So you can never know till he or she is here lol. As fas as what it will be considered we consider my son Asian because he has more asian blood in him. (SO is full Viet and I am a mutt) lol

Black. It sucks, but even if you have a little bit of black in you, you have to mark "African American" next to race on all school forms.

I'm 75% black, 25% NA, and I look like my mom with my dad's dark skin. My husband is 75% black, 25% Jewish and looks like his mom with his dad's dark skin. I consider myself black, no matter how much it irritates my mom. Your baby could look like either of you or neither.

Well, genetics are very crazy. My daughter's father is black and he definitely isn't light skinned but not real dark either. I am white and my daughter looks white with blue eyes and golden brown hair. You just never know really.
