Working close to full term

posted 3rd Nov
Until recently I came to know that as a pregnant woman I can elect to work passed the date the doctor advises I go on leave-
How many of you ladies out there have elected to do the same? And how long did you work until you finally went on PDL?

Was it hard to go back to work 4 weeks later? I'm planning on 6 weeks...
Did you have a daycare or did someone you knew watch him?

I had a fairly easy pregnancy and my doctor never told me I couldn't work until a certain time. I worked up until my 39th week and was induced at 40weeks 5 days. I worked retail and was on my feet alot so besides back aches there was no hard labor for me!

Well, I'm planning to work maybe a week before my due date-I don't know if I want my water breaking here at work, lol...just a tad embarassing! Although I am in the medical field-so I guess it wouldn't be too bad

My doctor would have let me work until I was in labor, but at my job that I had I informed them that I was going on leave three days before my DD with my first if he didnt come sooner. I ended up going into labor 4 days before that date.

I worked up until my induction date. Though, I had a few days where I called out or would come in late. If I was having bad BH i would call in late and my supervisor woudl tell me, "If you don't feel well, dont' come in. I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies!" LOl

i went to work in while in the early stage of labor. my contactions were 2-3 mins apart but not painful so i decided to go to work. I sit down all day which was hard on my back. i would have to get up and walk every hour.

I cleaned houses and my doc said as long as I wasn't eating the cleaning product I could clean and work as long as I felt comfortable. So I worked up until I was due.
