I don't know. I guess when that time comes I'll know. And no, I won't spank my child when I'm angry. Maybe I'm not the best candidate to be debating this b/c I have not been in the situation where I felt the need to spank my son, seeing as he's only 8 months old. But I know for a fact that yes, spanking wasn't fun when I was a kid. But it did help make me not be an unruly little brat.

and you don't have to be trashed-- i'm talking about drinking a few beers/cocktails-- enough to loosen you up.

alcohol is common in casual sex for three good reasons:

1) it shuts down your social brain -- so you're no longer self-conscious
2) it increases circulating levels of testosterone (making you more sexually aggressive)
3) it increases blood flow to your pelvic region (probably thanks to the above two).


speaking from personal experience, casual sex-- where i knew the guy but had no real emotional connection here, never ever felt as good as sex w/ someone i cared about-- b/c i wasn't turned on psychologically.

anyway, whether or not you've truly managed to have casual sex w/ 13 different people w/out a lick of alcohol isn't going to detract from the fact that generally speaking, most people who engage in casual sex do so b/c they're at least slightly inebriated if not otherwise altered.

otherwise, yeah, it's all good-- i've learned a lot. i'm a cynic about casual sex b/c i've had enough of it to know that most of the time it's just wannabe sex compared to real intimacy w/ someone you're actually into as a person.

And then you're in the dumpsters the next day.

We all make these timid mistakes to learn from them.
