im so sick of this pain,(gallstone vent)

posted 3rd Nov
so basically since LO was a week old (shes 5 weeks now) ive been passing gallstones(from what ive researched, all the pains match up and my sister that had them says thats what it sounds like to her) so at that one week i went to urgent care and they said to take advil and it will go away... but he had sent me home with vicadin (sp?) (before he said that advil would work )

basically every other night at 2 am i start passing them and it doesnt stop till 10 am. so ive been taking the vicadin so that im not screaming my head off from the pain. i went in to see my reg doc about it and waited in the room for an HOUR for her to touch my ribcage and send me for an ultrasound. i got it done yesterday and they said they will call me in a WEEK with the results.

I CANT WAIT A WEEK! im in so much pain i cant move from the bed. i throw up bile all day long, I cant even hold my LO in my arms  i cry cuz i feel like if SO doesnt set up my nightstand next to the bed with all her stuff before he goes to work idk how i will take care of her. i feel like a horrible mother that i cant take the best care of her right now cuz the docs r stupid.

i just called the doc cuz im not going to wait a damn week and i had to leave a stupid message. i only have 1 more pain pill left. even if i do take a pain pill i cant sleep it just dulls the pain..

i hope they actually call me back and things get moving along. i NEED to be able to care for my daughter and actually be able to get out of bed.

end vent.

You're not passing them... they're stuck in your bile duck... and the reason you keep getting this pain is from fatty foods, so I'd lay off anything even a little fatty.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2007, I totally know how that pain is!

I had to have mine removed when my LO was 2 weeks old. It was HORRIBLE. The last month of my pregnancy I was in and our of the hospital with pain attacks, on pains meds, ugh... I was induced 2 weeks early so some pressure would be relieved off of my gallbladder.

I'm sorry.   It is one of the worst pains I have ever experienced. Honestly, I'd rather go through labor again then deal with one of those attacks.

Oh hunny I know your pain!

I passed a stone and it hurt SO bad I wanted to die. I week later I had my Gallbladder out, the surgeon found stones bigger than the gallbladder itself!

Hmmmm... then I'd say go back to the hospital. I had an u/s when i went to the hospital and knew the results in half an hour, so I'd deffinetely just go back.

I know how you feel. I just got out of the hospital for a week   because they had to do an ERCP to remove a huge gallstone from my common bile duct--it was giving me jaundice and excruciating pain. Then after they removed the gallstone I developed pancreatitis (if you have to get an ERCP to remove any I pray you don't get it--worse pain I've had in my life) After the pancreatitis passed they removed my gallbladder. I just got home from the hospital Friday. I knowall about the pain and not being able to .take care of your LO. Today is the first day in over 2 weeks I could. Sorry you are going through that crap mama! hope you get better soon

i would go to the emergency room, explain what's going on, and demand some care and something to help your pain. they can't refuse to help you in the E.R. ask for a CAT scan to look at your gall bladder and find out exactly what's going on. with pain like that you don't need to go to the regular doctor, you need a hospital. my mom had the same thing last year and if you don't take care of it quickly you can die from it....i don't mean to scare you but it's true. the pain is an indication that you need help, not just pain pills.
also....are you breastfeeding? if you are and you're taking something as strong as vicodin, that will go through your milk to your baby and be very bad for her. go to the hospital!!! it's doesn't matter when your attacks happen, if they do a scan they will see what is wrong! GET HELP!
