re: Father in law wont respect my decision how do i tell him to

EWWW - i would feel so weird if my b/f's dad were trying to be in the delivery room. i wouldn't want him to see my peepee! i don't even want my own mother in there!

Why in the world is he so persistant?? My own father woulden't come near my room once I started pushing!! He told me he could gladly go his whole life without seeing that!!!

i just got a shit load of problems and Qs now...and not many to help me....

Theres no way in hell he will be allowed in there if you tell them that you don't want him in there. My nurse even told me that she would lie to my family and say that only one person (my fiance) was allowed in there during my labor. I didn't let anyone in when I had him either. Which worked out perfect b/c the NICU had to come in and my family would have only gotten in their way.

My dad and Aunt where the same way. they where aloud in the room til i started pushing but i made it clear that when it was time to push they where out. They kept sneaking into the room to try to see what was going on.....

The nurses will take care of it. We're mean like that when need be. YOU are the focus, YOU the mother in labor are the reason we are there. YOU are boss. What you say we try to make happen to the best of our abilities. No one will come in the room you don't want. But please make it very clear to your nurses that you do not want him in there ahead of time. Good luck!

Put it in your birth plan that ONLY your husband is allowed in there and NO ONE ELSE!!!
If he Does SOMEHOW get in the room when you go in, unless you go Really fast, -which you shouldn't with a first- You should have plenty of time once you're in the L&D room to let the nurse know that he is NOT welcome.
They are Very good about this sort of thing, and if you specify in your birth plan that -name your husband- is the only one you want in there and that specifically you do not want -name your father in law- to be there at any point in time -you should have no problem
Just tell your doctor the problem at one of your OB appointments, let them know what's going on and they should put it on file that he's not to be in there. You shouldn't have to stress over it -it's not his decision, it's yours. and he has no rite to being in there at all.
