The majority was his hand, he had burns all over his body but they have healed. His ear drums had holes in them but those have healed too. His hearing still is not 100%. For his original surgery, right after the injury, he was flown into Al Asad. After two weeks he was sent to Germany and was there for a week then sent to Naval Medical Center San Diego. He was there for about a week then sent home with me, but had regular check ups and more surgeries at NMCSD.

The doctors were really shocked that he did, it was a grenade blast. I will for sure tell him, and thank you for saying that   He is such a fighter and worked so hard at recovering that it really made it so much easier to take care of him.

I am so sorry...I wishI could hug you right now   I am in tears...I feel horrible for even bringing up my husband's injury.

Thank you very much, you know after everything happened, everyone as telling me how strong I was. I never looked at it that way, I just wanted to make sure he was taken care of, that was always my primary concern. I never felt strong though. It means a lot to hear people say it though.

Yes I got a lot of that. I always told them that you never know what you can do until put in that position. I was living in Colorado with my Aunt and Uncle when he was deployed so when I got the phone call, I cried and did a but of panicing but I snapped out of it ASAP. I knew there was a lot to be done, I had to move back to California and get our house ready and all together before he got home. I really think that helped take my mind off it all.

The fact that your girls will know how much their Daddy loved and still loves them is far more than many children get.
