Unless you're super dilated, you'll also have Cervadil put in for about 12 hours.

depends on if pitocin works or not if it doesn't you'll have a C-section.

I hated Cervadil. That shit felt weird when they were putting it in, it felt like it was scratching me.

Or misoprostal.

Cervadil looks like a shoelace, and they will circle it around your cervix. Misoprostol is a pill that they will put on your cervix. For both of these, you will have to lie down a lot.

THey may insert a foley cathader to get you to dilate more.

I had 2 doses of cytotec and pitocin. That's about it though and they broke my water to get things going.

When I was induced, I recieved an IV of fluids then and IV of pitocin ..that's supposed to kick start the dialation. I recieved the epidural at around 4 cms and felt nothing until the end when the epidural wore off and I could feel minor contractions and I totally felt her coming out. Unless you revieve the Cervadil (to make you dialate) then everything will be IV injected. It's pretty easy ..nothing to be scared of.

The epidural (if you're getting it) can be a little scary because it's going into your back and you can't move of course while it's being done and for me it made me throw up and everything during my labor but ..for the most part being induced is not anything to worry about.

My boyfriend's sister was induced & it took about 30 hours or so before her daughter arrived. She had cervadil & pitocin. They had to give cervadil two times before it helped.

I went in at 7 AM they started me on pitocin and broke my water. I had contractions until it was time to push. I delivered him at 2 pm that afternoon.

I think it's something they put on, around, or inside your vagina lol. I didn't have it so I don't know but whatever it is I think it's a little stronger than pitocin.

Thats basically it. Pitocin is just in an IV ..its just fluid form. You don't feel it and it does nothing to you. Once you start dialating more..they'll break your water and all you do is lay there and wait until 10cms and they tell you to start pushing.
