Seems like my milk has suddenly decreased in volume...

What would cause my milk supply to suddenly drop? My son is 7 weeks old and has been breastfeeding since birth... Not exclusively, but most of what he gets is from the breast. I've not even gone through a whole can of formula with him... And he didn't get ANY until he was four weeks old.

But just the other day, I noticed that my boobs were rather... flat. They used to be full and hard again within an hour or so of him eating.

could you be pregnant?

It is normal your milk supply is regulating and you are at a PRIME time for a growth spurt. Just keep baby on the boob and all will be fine.

Your milk is probably regulated. My boobs are the same size as pre-pregnancy after 5.5 months of bfing

just b/c they are flat and not as full, doesn't mean that you don't have milk in there. after the initial burst of milk right at first, your body slows down to produce just what he needs. it'll continue to regulate the older he gets. don't worry unless he doesn't seem to be getting anything when he eats. but if you're really worried, they have meds you can take to increase your supply. i drank peppermint tea for a while, and that always kept me overflowing. so i was able to pump and freeze TONS of milk!!

I had a friend whose milk decreased quit a bit and it was because she was pregnant. I have also heard that you period could do it, but I never had a period while bf.

I haven't had a period yet. Maybe, like a couple others have said, my supply is just regulated now so I'm only making what he needs. I hope so.
