Late conception (a bit long)

so I searched it on BG, and I can't believe there aren't any topics on this... I wish I knew more about late conception. Google didn't do much for me.

Anyways, I got a blood test last week friday, the result was negative although my hcg was at a level of 10. My husband talked to my nurse which is also a good friend of ours, she said it was most likely late conception, like conceiving after ovulation. Or it could be a high risk pregnancy. Of course my husband and my nurse think it is late conception. If I still haven't gotten my period by friday I'm going to see my nurse for urine analysis since I passed out during the blood test.

Anyone else havethought to have late conception during any of their pregnancies? Or got a negative on the blood test even though their hcg level was 10?

I think its considered "positive" at 20, or 24 hcg.... so my guess is, in 48 hrs from that last test, if you did it again it would be positive! GL honey.

The negative test was qualitive, it was probably set to 25 or whatever.

It's not negative. Anything over 5 is pregnant. The quantative was 10.

so are you saying i'm probably pregnant?

i ovulated late with my son and my blood test was negative with him but i had positive pee tests...the dr retook my blood later and the levels were so low he thought my son was a blighted ovum..however, i had a normal pregnancy and have a kid after it all..GL to you!

she is telling you there is a good chance, she can not tell you yes or no for sure.

i had a bloode test around oct.1st, last time i had sex was september 13th right before my husband left... no period that month wich is usually around the 20th or october, but negative bloode test oct.1st   still no period, no cramps, nothing. Part of me hopes it was late conception but I do not know, I have not tested since then but its already november. My son has an appointment today and we have the same doctor so I am going to talk to her about a few things today.

If it was a 10 Friday and you were indeed pregnant you should get a positive test by now.I would say test.

Thanks for your answers ladies. I should have gotten my period last tuesday, so I feel like I could be pregnant. Just waiting impatiently for it to be friday to take that piss test.

still.....couldve been too early, recheck it just in case, and stay positive!

I know, everyone says bloode tests are the most accurate, though they are but people get negative all the time.

I'm in the same boat only my AF was due around the 15th or a few days later...no signs of her coming at all but tons of CM...and I've taken 6 hpts all to be negatives and got my blood test done last thursday and it was a negative. And I still don't have any signs of AF coming and I have a few pregnancy signs.. Uhg I just wish I knew what the hell was going on here!!!

probably a later ovulation than you think. You can't conceive later than ovulation really (it has to be within 24 hours) BUT you can implant a bit later than some women might or you can ovulate later.
