re: Late conception (a bit long)

Quoting i love my sunshine:“ probably a later ovulation than you think. You can't conceive later than ovulation really (it has to ... [snip!] ... ovulation really (it has to be within 24 hours) BUT you can implant a bit later than some women might or you can ovulate later.”

Once a woman has ovulated her egg moves to the fallopian tubes. The egg usually disintegrates within 12-48 hours. Two days at most, chances seem pretty slim for it to be fertilized.I really have no idea when I ovulated this month, but my husband seems to think that if I am pregnant I conceived last week. I was confused by the whole subject of late conception when my husband informed me of my hcg level. That's why I was asking if any other women knew of something like this.

Megan is right.

Implantation occurs generally anywhere between 5 and days after conception. It usually takes about 3 or 4 days after implantation before enough hCG builds up in your body to spill over into your urine, and get a positive test that way. You can however get a positive blood test before that.

So, if you are a late implanter, it wouldn't be unusual to test positive late. Some people don't get positive tests until several days after they miss their period!!

I'm almost 20 days late but over this past weekend my CM was tinged brown and pink...but its totally gone now and its just milky white. I was thinking that it could of been implantation...but that would be REALLY late implantation if it was. And I took a blood test last thursday and it was neg. and all 6 of my hpts have been neg.

Yesterday I was experiencing some sort of cramp in my menstrual area, but it felt different from any menstrual cramp I've felt before, I still figured it was pms. I told DH about it and I told him most of the discomfort was on my right side. He said that the egg is attaching to my uterus, and when it does it attaches to the right side.  It was quite shocking to hear andI have these odd cramps again today. I really hope mother nature isn't pulling some sort of trick on me.

ps. yes, my husband knows more about pregnancy than I do

not to scare you but if it is bad cramps on just one side it could be an ectopic pregnancy, Also if you are I am not sure you would get them so soon but round ligament pains. GL girl, lots of baby dust

thanks for the baby dust. i don't think its ectopic. I read the first warning signs of this were pain and vaginal bleeding. I don't necessarily have pain just odd mild cramps, and I definately haven't bled since september.

okay I would not worry then, especially if there is no bleeding.
