All sorts of people do those things. We actually had an illegal immigrant with no insurance run into the side of our car and make a huge dent, we got it fixed by insurance.

I don't think that their promotions necessarily have to do with pay, why CAN"T they have been promoted because of a job welld one?

Sure there are many drawbacks, but people have no idea how many positives they bring, too. You get rid of them, and whole economies collapse overnight.

Do you know how long it takes to become a legal citizen? I've never seen them wreck havoc, they're are two illegal immigrants that work here. They do their job and go home.
And at least they come everyday unlike the AMERICAN workers who are sitting on unemployment instead of coming to work.
I'm positive there are more important things to worry about.

Even if you are an illegal immigrant, you can still get car insurance.

I know. I write about 40 of them a week.

I'm a legal immigrant, it took me 8 years just to be allowed to get a job. I never worked under the table, I couldn't even write for the college newspaper or work camera when asked to for a shoot at the school... I missed out on A LOT of opportunities because I didn't have a green card. For the record, I was quoted 2 1/2-3 years as how long it would take for me to get a green card, but bc of 9/11 and the HUGE number of illegals cutting line in front of me, it took 8 years, and now at age 23 I have finally joined the ranks of the employed.
I voted LET THEM STAY because many thousands DIE each year trying over and over, trekking through deserts w/o food or water, often dragging young family members with them trying to get here. Tell me that's not desperation!
The immigration "problem" doesn't actually exist... people simply need to realize that its part of the progress of capitalism. There's no need to fear unemployment if you're a willing, hard, qualified worker. Let them stay!
On the other hand, I do suggest a huge reworking of the country's immigration laws... they're outdated and completely unethical. How is GW Bush gonna give amnesty to millions of illegals and then still punish others who cross the border? Its BS if u ask me.

Interestingly enough, I was reading an article last night about how more and more gangs are being pushed into my state and my county because Virgina is getting more strict on not only the gangs, but the illegals. The largest gang that is included in this is MS13. MS 13 is mostly made up of illegals of which are dominantly fromEl Salvador. From what I have read, MS 13 is responsible for an extremely large amount of thetrafficking done across the border among many other crimes including weapons, robbery, rape, murder, etc. They are an extremely violent gang.

To me, that is a hell of a reason to crack down on illegal immigration in itself. Obviously there are plenty of legal pieces of shit, but why not weed out some of these dangerous people who are bringing even more shit into the country by way of drugs, weapons, etc.... on top of coming over illegally.

In my county it is policy that the police can not arrest anyone on gang suspicion or if they are illegal unless they are taking part in a violent crime or for guns. I mean... really? So if for whatever reason doing their job, they come across someone that is not documented, they can do nothing unless they are being violent. The cops are told to look the other way so that legal immigrants are not offended (at least from what I've read). I'm sorry for them, really... but turn a blind eye because it may hurt someone's feelings? That's bullshit. I just came across this information the other day and had NO idea that's how it is in my county.

I think it's wonderful that people want to come here to make their lives better for themselves and their families. By all means!!! And I think that the process should be less expensive and easier in the sense that those that are innocent and truly coming to this country for a good reason are able to do just that. But this looking the other way bullshit, to me, is just that... bullshit.

IMO, this is a perfect reason why laws should be in place and enforced.

The gangs are the real problem, and you're right... its BS to wait until someone commits a crime if the cops know they are gang affiliated. But you can also imagine it being BS to be arrested because you are statistically more likely to commit a crime. They'd be a list of all boys with absent/jailbird/abusive fathers, or people with a family history of violent alcoholism. I don't think that gang violence is a reason to crack down on illegal immigration as a whole... its a reason to crack down on organized crime, because that's exactly what it is.

FYI I can see where you are coming from, I don't believe that they should be here either, I also strongly believe that if both of your parents are not legal residents of this country, then you should not be one either. That would stop a lot of people from coming here and popping out babies and milking the system.
