super stressful nonstress test

posted 3rd Nov
Sooo last night was a TON of fun.
I have scheduled non-stress tests twice a wk because at the beginning of my pregnancy I tested positive for trisomy 18 (which thankfully ended up being negative after amnio results) but at that time my dr discovered that I have a low Estriol(?) level which can cause your placenta to "go bad" and cause miscarriages at the very end of the pregnancy. So since 31 wks I've been having the nst's twice a week and once a wk I have the BPP done to check him. Yesterday the RN at my office wasn't there and she told me last week I could just go to L&D and have it done. So I get there and my mom meets me there (which was odd cause she usually doesn't go)and think its going to be the same as every other one, yeah I was wrong. They get me all hooked up and after about 10 minutes and he hasn't moved they bring in the "alarm clock" the little buzzer that they buzz my belly with to wake him up and it works and he's now goin crazy in there, I actually told my mom that it was the most he had ever moved even after they used the little alarm clock. After awhile the nurse comes in and tells me shes taking the papers to the dr so he can look at them and hopefully shes gonna unhook me so I can go home, instead she comes back in the room and tells me that dr wants to see another "movement". We wait about 15 more minutes and my mom mentions using the alarm clock again if they need to and the nurse tells me that it worked the first time, but almost too well because it accelerated his heartrate but too high and for too long so they didn't want to use that again. So we waited some more and he moved away from the monitor, which then took the nurses seriously like 10-15 minutes to find it and get him monitored again. We waited a little while longer and they decided to use the alarm clock again. They used it twice and got no results this time. Now in the mean time I'm so freaking worried that something is really wrong I'm just about it tears and I can see that my mom is worried too. They kept me hooked up and watched him and still no movements so they came in and did an u/s to check him out. It took the Dr awhile to see him doing his "practice breathing". And while he was waiting he asks me "do you have placenta previa?" and I tell him no. He starts asking when I had an u/s last and if they mentioned it then and agian I'm like nope I haven't heard this until now. Then he does what they do and gets all quiet and just watches with a look on his face like he sees something. So finally they let me go home they say my little guy passed but not that great because of everything going on. Then the dr and 2 nurses asked me about my next NST and I tell them its Thursday and they all say "ok make sure you keep it" and remind me if he doesn't move that I need to come back to L&D and all that jazz. So literally 2 1/2 hours later they let me go home, now super worried about him of course. So I'm gonna call my dr office soon and see what the report said and what she thinks about everything. Sorry its so long!! Any other mommas had placenta previa? I'm just wondering what usually happens when you have it. Thanks mommas!!!!

Wow, that sounds scary.
I had partial placenta previa and I was put on "Pelvic rest" (no sex) and within a few weeks it had moved up. Worst case, it does not move and you have to have a c-section.
Good luck and call that doctor to clarify yesterdays tests!
