Oh yes.. I've heard all the horror stories about R. Duty and trust me, most stories are true   It is absolute HELL. I would take any deployment over Recruiting Duty, and every other woman on Recruiting Duty or married to an 8412 (career Recruiter)would say the same thing!

Although, we just had our Ball a week ago, and it was the BEST ball I've ever been to   We had LOADS of fun with everyone from RS Jacksonville  

And I'm so sorry you might be going to 29 Stumps.. ick   Cherry point just got new housing I believe?? So maybe that won't be as bad!!

He's a career recruiter? My gunny is now a career recruiter... He's making bank.. He's the SNCOIC for the region he's in in NJ (not sure the specific one). He's also a realtor on the side.

Cherry point did get new housing. My friends there tell me they're starting to demolish some of the oldest homes... There are still some shitty houses left, but I'm hoping we'll be able to just buy a home once (if) we get out there.
If we go to 29 stumps....

Oh HELLLLL no DH is not an 8412.. that's actually a cuss word in our home.. LOL We're only here in FL for another 2.5yrs.. I'm sure DH knows the exact day countdown   I would die if DH went career.. absolutely die  

And LMFAO @ you doing crack & becoming a stripper... that's what I would say if we ever had to move to CL! That place is a dump & we'd rather be anywhere but CL!!!

Hahaha that's good he's not a career recruiter then! Is he getting out when he's done there or going back to what's left of ARFF?

He will return to ARFF, probably as an E-7, and then we hope to either go back to Japan or Hawaii (he's been stationed at each place before). And then he wants to retire at 20yrs.. that's the plan.. for now

I would love to go to Hawaii. I was SOO close to getting stationed there, but unfortunately the only 53s there are 53D's and I was assigned to 53E's.

Oh I know.. I don't think he'll be able to leave the Corps. He's too dedicated & competitive, if that makes sense?? LoLHe always has to "prove" himself!

That sucks that you didn't get stationed in HI! Does DH ever have a chance of being there or no??

Ehhh in a perfect world he would be sent to station weapons in K Bay... (which is a non deployable unit)... But he hates station here, so I doubt he would ever pursue those orders. He likes going on dets and such, so him being non deployable would probably make him hate the Corps even more.

My husband hates the Marine Corps up until recently... I've been having some serious resentment issues with him being in and me no longer in. I really think I would kill to have orders to go to the drill field right about now... even though it would mean another 3 years in Beaufort.

Yeah, but I hear it sucks because you are stuck in a limited area.
