If you are considering adoption...

posted 2nd Nov
I can only imagine the crap I am about to get, but here it goes.

If you are considering adoption, I would love for you to consider me and my husband. If you are interested, please PM me and we can talk about things.

I know I may not even get any responses, but a lot of people have told me to get my family out there so birth mother's know we exist. Thanks for your consideration.

are you going through a local adoption agency hun? You might find better luck there.

We are trying to avoid that, because we have found most are just in it for the money. I would like to do a private adoption. I am really new at this. Lol.

most of what an adoption agency charges is actually legal fees. there are tons of hoops to jump through to make an adoption legal and attorneys aren't cheap. IMO its easier to go with someone who knows what they are doing rather than trying to do it all alone.

i didnt mean bouncy seat. lol. i meant jumper. its just a personal thing, i learned from a child development class. a study showed that it delays walking, and problem solving. i watched my nephew struggle to find his feet after he spent a lot of time in a jumper. i have no issues with parents that use them, i think babies enjoy them a whole lot. they just arent for me.

I am interested in the same thing as well. I would want an open adoption/agreement between parents and I, not a company telling me I have to pay and intervening all of the time. I think adoption and pregnancy are stressful enough on someone. Good luck to you mama!

well no child is meant to be placed in anything stationary for long periods of time.

thanks to everyone for their well wishes, and of course if you run across anyone please keep us in mind. i have no problems answering any reasonable questions about our lives, our household, our parent style, anything the biological parents would want to know.

That is all very true. I've taken two child development classes that they taught that in. You learn all kinds of things in those classes that everyone does that are "wrong" lol

The other one that surprised me was the stuff about the Baby Einstein DVDs actually having kids learning fewer words. Crazy how some of that stuff happens! We didn't get Ethan a jumper but he does have an exersaucer. I just used it for his entertainment while I took a shower lol   He was taking steps by 10 months so I guess it didn't hurt him too much!
