Frustrated

posted 2nd Nov
Last night I was at the grocery store and started having very sharp pains in my stomach and vagina, it was so painful that I had to bend over and stop walking. I called the doctor and she told me to go home and get some rest and drink plenty of water, since Im 35 weeks she just said I was most likely having braxton hicks. I went home and did what she said and they subsided within an hour. Today at work the pain started back up again and so I left. I went home sat down , drank water and the pain didnt go away, so I decided to go to the hospital. It was so bad when I walked that I had to hold on to SO while walking to car. They hooked me up to a monitor I was having contractions that got to 40, but they said were not regular enough to keep me. They told me to take two days off work and see if the extra rest helps. When I went to leave I was in even more pain while walking and the nurse said it could be round ligament pains, but my lower back is achy, and now Im having period like cramps and lots of rectal pressure. I just thuoght they should have at least checked my cervix, and they didnt even do that. It is still killing me to walk and my uterus tightens up if I just take a step. My 35 week checkup isnt until Thursday, should I try to get in sooner? Does anyone have any idea what is going on with me, could it be prelabor or just the normal pains of late pregnancy ?

They should have definitely checked your cervix. They checked me at 32 weeks when I was having pains. If your contractions get regular I'd go in, if not wait till thursday

after drinking water and laying down .. after a hr.. if your still having more then 5-10 contractions an hr.. your suppose to go back in. some hospitals wont check your cervix bc they dont want to stir things up.. even tho your body is obviously getting something going that it shouldnt be doing yet. braxtons hicks arent really suppose to put you in PAIN PAIN.. they are uncomfy.. but not suppose to feel like the real DEAL. If i were you.. I would go back in.. if they start up again. and demand that they check you and lo out completly.

i went into pre term labor at 34 weeks and i wasn't havin a lot of contractions in fact i didn't even know..i only went because i had a lot of pressure down there and my husband suggested i'd go so i did and i was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. my ob put me on meds to stop my labor and i went home 3 days later..i started having a lot of pressure in my rectum and had the same discomfort as u but i had my baby at 39 weeks and 3 days..so maybe u should just take it easy..rest. im sorry to tell u but u can be like this for weeks..  hope u feel better
