Apartment....

posted 2nd Nov
Me and SO are gonna be moving soon and have been apartment shopping we are wondering whether we should get a one bedroom or two bedroom, i myself dont mind sharing a room with baby, i actually prefer it but i dont know what kind of toll it will take on our relationship. 2 bedrooms in az are only about 100-200 more than a 1 bedroom, but that is money we could use im a big saver whenever i can lol

Basically im looking for advice from anyone who was in the same sitch, whether you decided to share a room with baby or give baby his/her own room? pros and cons of your choice ect....?

Thanks mommas!

If I knew then what I know now I would've gotten a 2 bedroom. Only because Micah likes to sleep alone and it's just so much easier if he had his own designated space. Not to mention hubby works nights so is sleeping during the day. Nap time gets challenging when you have someone sleeping in the bedroom with a crying baby.

Most places you need to have 2 bedrooms.
I know here it's the law to only have 2 people to a bedroom, or the baby can be in the room until 1, but then needs their own room.

I'd get 2 bedrooms. I like that Ainsley has her own room, and her own space.

I wouldn't mind sharing but eventually when they get around 1 or 2 they need to get a room for their selves.

Around here it's 3 for a 1 bedroom, 5 for a 2 bedroom.

Two bedrooms for sure! Our daughter slept in our room in her cradle for 3.5 months or so, but having the extra bedroom, and the extra storage was a huge thing. there was just too much stuff that goes along with a baby to have fit it all in a one room bedroom. if u can afford a two bedroom, i really suggest it. plus, eventually you'll want your own room back! at first, i didnt like her not in our room, but now that i know shes ok in her crib, i am SO glad that i dont have to worry about making too much noise in our room and such.

I personally like my daughter having her own room. I never got good sleep with her in my room. I worried at every noise or whimper.......plus it is nice for her to have her own space to play.

Lucky. I would have gotten a 1 bedroom condo if it was like that here.
Our old apartment complex told us we could have 5 people live in our 2 bedroom if we paid them extra. Whoever deals with apartment complex safety issues found out, and they got a HUGE fine.

Ok well so far im now leaning towards a 2 bedroom a lot of these things, like sneaking around, sleeping hubby, stepping on toys in the middle of the night, never crossed my mind lol

Yeah and it just gives you the choice. She can be with you guys or her own room. Just cause you guys have a 2 bedroom doesn't mean you need to use 1 for her bedroom. It can be an office or play room till you change your mind later.

I totally agree cause this being my first child im sure i will want him or her sleeping in my room for awhile but it will be nice to have a spare room for anything we need, thanks for the advice

yeahi thought about that too lol thats why i didnt know what toll it would take on the relationship, a poor couch can only take so much plus black doesnt do good for that sitch either haha i think im now ONLY looking at 2 bedrooms

I say 2bd. Teagan slept in our room till about 4.5m and she sleeps so much better!! She slept through the night in our room, but she sleeps about 2.5hrs longer in her room. We love the closet for extra storage lol We wouldn't fit in a 1 bd.
