I don't see how they could if it is a month or so after when you go to get the abortion. Its not like they are going to stand there and call a girl a liar if she says she needs an abortion and the baby was a result of sexual abuse.

Can't the girls go into another state to get an abortion without their parents knowing? Just wondering...

Personally,I think any woman who wants to abort should be supported.One less baby in a dumpster.
I can understand parents worrying about their girls' aborting without their knowledge,though.What if the teen can't drive,or forgets or blows off a follow-up and develops health problems? Or if the minor is on medication that could make twilight anethsesia(sp) riskier than usual?

Maybe a fifteen-year-old decides to take the abortion pill thinking it's less scary than surgery,only her uterus retains unexpelled tissue,and she then skips the follow-up? As much as I hate,hate,hate the idea of a woman being forced to stay pregnant when it repells her(or being pressured to abort if it repells her) I can kinda see where they might be coming from.

guess it depends on how much allowance they get

I saw on the news that there is an extension until Friday and I guess after Friday they are going to try for another extension. I'm not sure how I feel about it because if my daughter were to get pregnant as a teen, I think I deserve to know but I can understand that some girls would be ashamed for their parents to find out.

Not always. Not all rapes are violent and in abortion cases, this is a month, two, etc. after the fact.

I don't agree w/ this law. Sure as a parent I want to be notified, but I plan on having an open relationship w/ my kids about sex anyway. I just think this will cause too many problems. Some kids can't tell their parents, I think it is their body and it is their choice what to do w/ it. I am saddened that IN has this law already.
As someone said about Twilight sleep..they don't give that in all cases. I didn't get ANYTHING.
