Parents that had preemie babies

When did you start your LO on rice cereal and baby food? Gavin and Evan were born 1 month early and their going to be 5 months on the 20th. With Hayden I started him on cereal and fruit at 4 months and then later on gave him the veggies but he wasn't preemie.

I haven't fed them cereal, but I have given them in the last two weeks a different taste of food every couple days, so far green beans, pears, squash, and mum mums...They are going to be 8 months on the 12th, and they were a month early.

Bella was born at 29 weeks. She has had cereal in her bottle since 2 months old due to reflux and her not gaining weight. The pedi and her neonatologist said we could try her on baby food at 4 months so we did and she has done great with it. She has been on baby food for 2 weeks and has had no problems.

my 34 weeker was four months old and she was always a hungry baby so she started baby foods at 5 months.

At their 4 month checkup their Pedi asked me if I had tried cereal and baby food yet and I told her no, and I also read on the internet that with preemies its best to wait until 5 to 6 months which their pedi said that was fine to wait like that. I might try them on rice cereal when they turn 5 months on the 20th though just to see how they do.

They said since she has been on cereal for so long that we could try baby food. They also said it would help with her weight gain and it has. She is up to 8 lbs 13 ozs!

My twins are little chunkers lol!!! Gavin weighs 13 pounds 9.6 ounces and Evan weighs 13 pounds 3.2 ounces, there's not a big space between their weight but Gavin is really chunky and Evan looks really thin, the pedi said their just proportioned differently.

She is really small even for her being early. She is in the -5 percentile even on the preemie charts.

You don't have to start with rice cereal =)

My first started at 8 months and my second started at 6 months.

Aariyanah was born at 33 weeks and she just turned 4 months on the 27th of october...I started her on rice cereal about 3 weeks ago but only at night and only 2 tablespoons. I just switched her to oatmeal though because I heard that the rice can make them constipated and I think she was starting to have that problem...
