and got suspended, how would you react? i was just in another thread and someone said they would laugh in the school's face if her daughter got in trouble for calling another little girl a slut. and then someone was saying the little girl being called a slut should be suspended for being a slut. so what would you do?

Holy shitballs....we called (and were called) sluts all the time when I was in school!!

Honestly, I think people are way too easily offended now days and need thicker skin.

ETA: I guess the age of the child is a big part of how I would react. I'd be livid if my 8 year old did that....but if he was 16, I'd probably react differently.

Punish my child for the words that came out of his mouth if he was in middle shool or younger.
If he was in highschool, i'll punish him for being suspended which in turn should teach him not to call girls sluts unless he wants to miss out on highschool activities.

In my opinion that is going beyond just using words, its becoming an assualt if she is having other kids gang up on her and taunting her with insulting names like that...yes words are just words, but when you get to the point of having 5 or 6 girls going at you like that, its getting to be more than just words

When I was in school the old saying was sticks and stones may break my bones....and of course that people talked bad about Jesus....if my child was in middle school I would obviously fault the other girl for being a slut...and actually fight against my child being suspended...idk at my middle school girls were havign sex with eachothers boyfriends and giving head at the back of the school....I mean...I wouldnt fault my child for that...however if my child was like 4th grade or below she would def. be in trouble b cuz that only shows bad parenting on my part....middle school kids can pretty much think on their own

   embrassed to admit, When i was a freshman this one kid really got on my bad side, i can't remember why anymore, but we ( my group of friends) held a National 'X' day. ( no NOT X as in ex bf) We posted posters, handed out flyers, and made name tags saying National X day.Filled an entire notebook with drawings of thingswith X's all over and handed it to him that day gift wrapped. We had a lot of the sudents partcipate. It was called National X day because his two front teeth formed an X
It was very out of line and I now can look back on it and be ashamed... Poor Kid..

eta: Yes we realized it wasn't proper to be called "national" but we thought it sounded better

My daughter called someone a bitch once, she was grounded for the night and she had to apologize to the girl in front of me.

I told her if it happened again, she'd be grounded for a week.

If my daughter was ever suspended for doing anything like that, she'd be getting some tough love at home...including complete restriction and grounding.
