pregnancy weight annoyance!!

Sooo... I went to my dr. appt. today. and was told by my midwife that she thinks im gaining too much weight. Before I got preggo, I was 5'4 138lb, now at 24 weeks im 152lbs. I've gained 12 pounds and she told me she expects me to gain an average of 15 pounds. WTF!!!! She then told me if I get cravings I should drink cold water and wait 30 minutes b4 i eat, so it'll decrease the cravings. So Im thinking to myself like, OKKKK, so what, am I suppose to starve myself???? The hell, if im hungry im gonna eat, this damn sure aint the time when im gonna worry about my weight, I'll deal with that after I have my baby girl.

ignore her! I went to an ob that told me I was fat and only needed to gain 15 lbs also. um yeah I ran 3 miles a day prepregnancy I wasn't fat. I have a new doc now who doesn't care I've gained 20 at 28 weeks. I ask if its fine and he looks at me like I'm crazy for even asking that.

u can gain up to 30lbs, its 15-25 if ur over weight and ur not, so idk, dont feel bad tho it doesnt sound to bad

You only gained 12 lbs in the first 24 weeks and she's telling you that's way too much?! You weren't that big to begin with, so you should be aiming for like 25-30... at least that's what I was told, and I was just a little smaller than you when I got pregnant.

15lbs?? forget that mama u have a craving eat it!!! lol the average person gains 25-30lbs anyways thats what it says in my baby book. I on the other hand gained wayy to much with my 1st so im gunna try hard to control my weight this time lol i lost itall plus some after my 1st and now im going down that road again haha hopefully i wont gain thatt much.

Yeaa ( brinker babymaker) I was thinking about getting a new dr. because I didnt think twelve pounds was that bad either, and my baby is 100% fine, no gestational diabetes, all the blood work came out good and everything, so im thinking as long as my baby is ok, what does it matter how much weight I gain?? oh yea she also said something about if I gain too much weight I might have complications at birth. If my baby is ok, how would my weight affect the birth????

i was 118 when i started and am 138 now! UHH im only 23 weeks! ha
and at first the doctor told me at the rate i was going that in the end i was ganna be 180! haha but im kinda slowing down now.

they say that im fine were im at now..no dont not eat when your hungry thats the stupidest thing

nope you can still find a new one, thnk about it this way people move states all the time even end of pregnancy and still get new doctors. you should be comfortable with the doctor this one doesn't sound like the right match for you.

Ehhh every doctor is different. Some say gain less, some dont care. Weight really can affect delivery. And can cause you to have a LGA baby. They base how much you should gain off of your bmi, if it says you are overweight, you should gain 15-25lbs
