re: Swine flu ..

I think about that too.

However the flip side of that is what happens if my child has adverse/debilitating effects from the vaccination?

It is completely sad that young babies/children are dying however would we be in this same frenzy if it was the seasonal flu that was the threat? Considering each and every year we are exposed to it without even subconciously realizing it, how many of us vaccinate against seasonal flu?

I guess what really gets me right now and what really has me leaning more towards one way than the other is why we do not have as much pandemonium about seasonal flu as we do H1N1 considering statistically it takes more lives per annum.

well I do get the flu shot every year and have since I remember. I was not going to get Matthew the regular flu shot but since I went ahead and got him the N1H1 I went ahead and got him the regular shot.

I had planned on getting him the regular shot after this year.

yeah he just got them today. He is up to date on his regular shots.

He is acting normal. A little fussy but nothing a little tylenol won't help. I also think he is teething so I think that is why he is fussy also.

I think my son is too on his regular shots.

I'm not normally anti-vaccine. In fact the ones which we normally vaccinate for I fully support but this one makes me leary.

Thanks for your input!

believe me I understand completely. One they that swayed my decision is that TV show the Docktors. It was all bout the vaccine and stuff. I still probably would not have gotten it if I had not seen that episode.

Your Welcome.

Well we didn't get the shot...
But we did get the swine flu...

Same as the regular flu.
Everything is fine, now.

Not getting it. I'd only be worried if anyone in my family had some type of underlying sickness that caused their immunities to be lower then normal. Otherwise, my family won't be getting any flu shots ever! Never have!

I agree with you, there. I think it's way out of proportion, and I think the regular flu is, as well. Just me.
And thanks

Quoting AngelJusticesMoma:“ Just curious, how many of you lady's will be or have gotten the H1N1 vaccine? How many of you aren't going to get it? Why or why not?”

I got the swine flu vaccine for my sons protection. He is too little to get it. My husband and I both got it hoping if we can avoid getting the flu, we can in turn protect Jason from getting it. Also the swine flu is very dangerous for pregnant women and we are ttc so I wanted it before I got pregnant (if I get pregnant)

The swine flu vaccine is made with the same stuff as the regular flu vaccine whichbtw is a new vaccine every year bc the flu mutates year to year. If I were you, I would research the Center for Disease Control's site or other medical sites so you could make a decision based on accurate information.

Good Luck!

I went to the dr. today.
He said it's just a regular cold, but if you have had health issues before that it can cause other symtoms such as vomitting or the runs. The only difference it really has is the high temperature. The ones that have been dying are ones that don't have a good immune system. They are reporting so much as an epidemic not because it is a BAD FLU but because SO MANY people at one time are getting it. People need to rememer how to be sick nowadays, everyone is so use to "oh i'm sick give me antibiotics" instead of letting their bodies fight it off. In the long run, your body becomes immune to certain anitbiotics, and a regular flu is a virus which anti biotics don't fight off. I tough out everything when I am Ill and I get sick way less. I thank my mother for that, for not giving me medicine for every little thing.
