labor story

so i finally got around to doing my labor story, lol 4 months later...

It all started on Monday night june 22nd, i was having contractions on and off and then they started feeling like they weren't releasing. I was already 5 days over-due and just wanted my son out, so i told my husband his mom lets go to the hospital, wen we got there they hookedme up on the monitors and the doctor came in and did a ultrasound, she told me i didnt haveany fluid around the baby (funny because i had a non-stress test and ultrasound done earlier that day and the nurse told me the fluid was fine around him) and they were going to start the inductionso they put the foly-bulb inside me at 2am and sent me home told me to come back when it falls out, it didnt fall out so at 12 they called me and told me to come in at 2pm to be admitted and started on pitocin. we got there they did my blood tests and hooked me up on the monitors around 4pm they started the pitocin and i was 3cm. At 8pm the nurse came and checked me and told me i was 6 to 7cm and cranked the pitocin up, at 11pm i asked for the epidural, i was having such bad back labor, i got the epidural at 1am. After getting the epi it made me sick and i started throwing up, they had to give me some medicine thru the I.V to make me stop throwing up, finally at 5am i started relaxing and started to fall asleep then my water broke, i woke my husband and mother in law up and told them call my mom, my mom got there at 6:45am, the epi wasnt really working for me so they gave me bolis thru the IV, after that it was 7:55 and i told the nurse i need to push theres lots of pressure and it feels like hes coming out, the nurse didnt believe me and walked out, my mom ran and got her and told her to check me, when she pulled the covers up she told me o well theres the babys head. At 8am i started pushing and after 22 minutes and 12 pushes my son arrived at 8:22am 6lbs 11oz 19 & 1/2 inches long after 17 hours of labor. it was alll so worth it.
