If he can play and is alive why would the mother want him to die?

I have no idea what I would do in that situation. Those poor parents.

If the baby is living, and there's a chance for a better life, why end it? I'm not too sure I'm on the mother's side. I'd need more info.

Sounds like the baby might be ok with a tracheostomy, so I would wait until the Dr's weight in on that.
I don't think I could make that decision and my heart breaks for all parents that have had to.

I would take him off of life support. It's a progressive disorder and the child is already in pain (and probably stressed over the constant respiratory distress).
No one deserves to live like that.

I would keep him alive, and keep looking for cures.

I honestly don't know if I could knowing that my baby was responding to the outside world. That's defintely a hard decision because I wouldn't want my child to suffer as well.

well what I gatherd from the artical that once testing is done they can find out what severity of this is and then treat it accordingly, IMO I would wait and see what can maybe be done simply because if they were gonna take him of life support they should have done it sooner than letting him get to be one year old before even considering it.

I think i could even weigh in an answer right now .... I would honestly have to be in this situation before I could say with conviction what I would do . That said I believer we are all sent to earth with a purpose and sometimes that journey involves suffrage , however it is hard to imagine having to decide whether my child lives or dies. I really feel for the parents

The dr.'s told my mom that she should just let my sister go because there had been no brain activity for so long due to the amount of time she went without oxygen. She was 9 weeks old at the time. She was blue when my mom picked her up out of the bassinet. We lived 15 minutes from the hospital. My mom wouldn't give up on her. Eventually they were able to take her off of the breathing machines. She was on a heart moniter for her first year. She is 19 with no problems from it whatsoever.
