The Monkey Dispute

Do you think it's okay to keep a monkey as a pet? Does it depend on the owner, or how the home is set up perhaps? Or does it not matter and it's a simple no in your opinion?

No, they are not meant to be house pets.. especially around kids.

I would. I mean, not in an apartment complex in the middle of the city. But if I lived out in the country or woods....and it was like going to be an abandon monkey. I wouldnt have someone go catch me one or anything.

I don't know enough about monkies to give an educated answer. I've just heard that they're one of the hardest animals to keep as pets.

I couldn't. But that's b/c I would constantly think of the movie outbreak. I don't think that they are made to be household pets. But, on that same page I have seen (not in person) how helpful that a trained monkey can be to a paralyzed person. So I guess it really depends on the situation.

to the question at hand, I don't know enough about domesticating monkeys to give a reply, other than my gut tells me it is a bad idea....

No, and there is one down the street from me that has been in this small cage and for sale now for a few months. I feel soooooo bad for the darn thing!

My grandpa had a little monkey when he was younger--in his 20s. I remember telling him that I wanted one and he told me how nasty they were. He said his used to throw his feces everywhere and it was just gross. I guess he changed my mind about wanting one, but they're still damn cute

I knew someone as a kid who had one, and no matter how clean you keep them and how swell you wipe its ass they REAK!

I saw a special about it. I can't say I know all about it, but watching itkind of bothered me I guess. They definitely look hard to take care of. I have a hard enough time with my LO! Hah
