Take to the hospital too?

I just bought some D ' VI ' SOL Vitamin D drops for my baby since I am going to be HOPEFULLY breastfeeding and was wondering, should I take it to the hostpial with me, or wait until my real milk comes in?

They didnt prescribe me that until i was 2 weeks, if breastfeeding doesnt work out you prob dont need it.

My Hospital provided them for me. When I discharged it was included in my prescriptions.

I would wait until you come home....my son didnt get those until 2 weeks as well...

Ok. I havent used these drops before, just the multi ones for my daughter, but she was bottle fed, along with my son. I was going to ask my midwife when I see her on Thursday, when I should give them to him, but I got them now, since i was at wal-mart. If I dont breastfeed for some reason, which I really hope I can, I will just take them back.

you arent going to need them for at least two weeks IF your doctor suggests them at all.. i wouldnt use them before then since its possible to od on vitamins.

I got a free formula thing in the mail that I signed up for, and there was a panfilt (sp) about them being good for breastfed babies, and there was a coupon with it, so I was like, oh well I am going out today, I will pick it up while I am there. lol.. I didnt know that breastfed babies needed extra vitamins.

I take vitamins myself and I'm pretty confident in my boobie juice. My youngest daughter was exclusively breastfed for 6 months and now (at almost 8 months) only gets half a jar of food a day.
She's thriving just fine and is as healthy as a horse without them *shrugs*. Besides, those vitamins smell like buttholes.

lol boobie juice. Yeah I didnt think that breastfed babies needed extra vitamins.. Who knows, lol. I have them just incase, lol..

I had major latching on problems with my other 2 kids, so I hope that this one will be the winner of the boob. I really really want to breastfeed, so my midwife gave me a nipple sheild to help just incase I get into the same situation.

you aint lyin. lol i got poly vi sol drops.. and it sucks because they STAIN EVERYTHING. do you know how hard it is to give a 6week old vitamin drops and NOT make a mess or keep them from spitting it out.??

thats what I was thiking lol. Even if they were taking it, their tounge pushes everything out, lol

my mom showed me how to squish her cheeks so she swallows it but if she spits up it still voids the whole procedure.. lmao..
