Constantly Thirsty

posted 2nd Nov
I don't know if this has anything to do with having a baby/breastfeeding, but I am constantly thirsty and my mouth and throat always feel so dry. I drink as much water as I can, but it doesn't seem to help. At night I drink at least 2 full glasses of water from the time I go to bed to the time I get up for the day (last night I drank three). This is sooo not normal. The only thing google comes up with, for the most part, is diabetes. I'm just wondering if anybody had this issue post partum/while breastfeeding?

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of...I didn't have it while pregnant, though, but I guess it probably doesn't matter.

Does water help, though? I'm just freaking out because water doesn't seem to help at all...

I'm always really thirsty too (I breastfeed as well). I brought up my concerns to my doctor and he said it's completely normal and your body's way of ensuring it stays hydrated to be able to provide for your baby.

Ok, that's really good to hear! I scheduled an appointment with my doctor, but they couldn't get me in until next Monday. Ugh.

I'm breastfeeding as well and get thirsty constantly..but it's because your body is giving all the nutrients to the baby and the more you drink the more you produce milk..Drink lot's of water ! I don't think it's diabetes but just check yourself.
