If i want to introduce my son to

solids, and he's 4 1/2 months old, what things should i start out with?

Today and yesterday I gave him banana oatmeal cereal. I mixed it with water. He seems to really hate it, but he hates rice cereal more.....

When should I introduce him to vegetables?

What should I start out with? and for how long until I introduce something else...

you should do rice cereal before oatmeal. mix it with his formula...not just water. i believe it was veggies green before fruit. dont go back and forth right away. you need to make sure he has no allergy. so wait a couple days before starrting something different.

I skipped rice and oatmeal.

I thought it was only rice cereal until6 months

and veggies before fruits, because if they get used to the sweetness they might reject the veggies

if he hates it he proabally isnt ready for it.

I mean I started early but my daughter always loved it..shes almost 7 months and I still mix everything with rice or oatmeal she prefers it that way.

Start with plain not banana he will be more willing to eat things like veggies if you dont start with something sweet tasting my dr told me with my son to stay on just oatmeal for 4 weeks to make sure he would adjust to it ok then start with veggies starting only1 do just that 1 for 2 weeks to make sure theres no allergic reaction then you can try another one give each one 2 weeks before introducing a new one. It may take 5-6 tries before he will even eat it

Rice cereal to start. It's the most bland and most likely to not bring out an allergy.
Do that a month, then oatmeal for a month. Then introduce veggies week by week, then fruits.

I breastfeed and find almost no time to pump

Because he'll have to get used to it before he likes it....even now with a 1 year old it takes tobias a few bites to decide he likes it

I mean with a 4 and a half month old he may not be ready, cam'ron,s 3 now and he STILL has to "lick" things before he will eat them :. lmao

well that's what i mean. he'll never know if he doesnt try. i dont agree with oatmeal first. yuck. i hate oatmeal and tobi did too. well he liked it, it was the massive throwing up he did AFTER the fact. lol The first foods will be easier to tolerate anyways being so thin.

he stares at me and literally smacks his lips whenever I eat and reaches for the food. He can sit up, he can push his body up, etc. Those are signs that he wants to eat....oh and he doesn't have that reflux thing where they push the food out automatically anymore.

first foods...as in rice cereal?

or is there anything else. he doesn't like that at ALL
