She didn't have to go

Back in 8th grade I had a hard time in school so in 9th, I decided to go to home schooling. I was scared, lonely, and lost and about that time, I met my best friend...
She was brought to me after some neighbor kids beat her and I was told she had a small amount of brain damage but it wouldn't affect her life span. She helped me through high school and she brought me MANY days of laughter and smiles. She slept with me, smiled at me, followed me EVERYWHERE and she was ALWAYS there for me no matter who was around. Without her, I would have NEVER made it this far.

Tonight, she died of an un-expected reason. She was barely 4 years old and she was spunky, hyper, crazy little girl. I was getting my hair cut tonight at my parents [where she lives] and she was FINE then my husband and I left to go to eat a snack out at Denny's and got a call she died.

I'm beside myself and I never got to fully prepare myself. She's my FIRST baby and she's my most special love. I'll never forget her.

Aw, poor little Snicky. Rest in peace. Sounds like she had a lovely and very much loved existence.

I don't know what I'm going to do when my first baby passes, my heart goes out to you hun.

sorry for your lost.i would die if something happened to my dog.i love him like i love any of my family member hes my first baby 2.just stay positive and remember all the good times you had with her.

Awe I'm sorry I don't know what I'd do without my cat.
We saved her as a kitten, she was floating in a river in a bag when my sister went to go catch her and she just turned nine, and I looked up cat lifes span and it was 9-15 years I told her she can't die on me.

Thanks ladies...I'm just really numb...I'm not sure what to think except recall all the good times I can think of...

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. You saved her and gave her a better life though. It's going to be hard for awhile but just think of all the good times and happy memories she brought to you and you to her.

Thanks so much girls for the encouragement. I'm doing much better tonight now that it's been about 24 hours. I took her body to the vets this morning for cremation but before I did, I took some of her fur, her collar, a picture I had of her, her favorite toy, and I put it all in a safe spot just for me to save as memories of her. I spent some alone time with her and put the letter I wrote for her, in her box. I told her how much I loved her and all the good memories I still had from her. It sure doesn't feel real that she's gone as she was like my first child and my husband and I treated her like our princess daughter. She was WELL LOVED and I'll never forget her but it sure does help having encouragement from you ladies.

i know exactly how you feel. i lost my first bestfriend when i was in highschool and i only have one picture of him



this is candy. he was the sweetest thing. he use to sleep with me follow me around and i use to dress him up haha. he was sick his whole life we spent thousands on him from vet visits. he had to wear a cone bc he would scratch himself and just bleed. then his back legs went out when he'd try to walk he couldnt he'd just drag his back legs. the vets didnt know what happend to him or why he was lik this but he was just suffering so my mom decided to put him down. it was the worse day of my life i just remember sitting outside with him on his last day just letting him play in the grass. he loved it outside. i couldnt go with my mom when she did it i stayed home. i cried for a week but i know hes in a better place and someday i will see him again!
