name suffixes...

Ok, me and DH are having different opinions... his dads name is Ruben Basora and DH is Ruben JUAN Basora Jr. now what do you think our son would be? He says the II i say the III. He says the second because he is the first with Juan and his dad doesn't have Juan so what do you think?

Id say the 2nd because its true the dad doesnt have Juan so it does make his name different from the grandfather

He would be a II, just because your husband is the first with "Juan".

Exactly, that's why I say the third though because I looked it up and it said II would be under junior but junior is most common. I don't know lol. This is too confusing.

Grandpa -= first
Daddy -= second
Daddy's son -= third

I was under the impression that a "Junior" is anybody with the same first name, kind of more relaxed than the II or III suffixes since they are for children holding the exact same names?? Thus making this baby the II.
OP, I really don't think that anybody will get on you about it at any point in time   Call him what you want!

Technically he would be the jr seeing how the names our different but since dad is a jr then baby will be a 3rd. trust me if you put the second it just represents jr. my son was suppose to be a third and grandma fill the paper work out and put II and so now his card reads jr II. And they did tell us it may cause problems in the furture since dad is the jr. So I would say use the third since dad is a jr. Thats just my opinion based off my experience. good luck!!

Hubs cannot be Jr unless he is named exactly after his dad. THe order is already screwed up... just give the kid his own name and fuck tradition. It's horrible to have so many people in one family with the same exact name. Jr's are out dated and cruel.
