I don't really see what is so wrong with it.

How hard is it to say Thank You to the child and if you don't want the information, throw it in the trash later?

If it makes the kid feel better, as he trick or treats, to spread the word of God,why can'tanyone just ignore it if they don't like it?

If he would have been super pushy, arguing with you at the door, I see a genuine concern you might have. He simply handed you a piece of paper and made a little speech. I don't see the big deal, honestly, and I cannot stand the door-to-door soulwinners, normally.
