The fucking fight of the year *VENT

God, me & my so can not seem to get past this ONE reoccurring fight. You would not believe how far it's gone. Today he just fucking walked out and left, he's been gone two hours. It's the exact same fight, for our next kid (we're not even TTC) he wants the boy to be named after him, completely after him, there is no compromise on middle names or anything. His name is Harry Cooper, yeah, his fucking name is HARRY. God, I can just see it now my kid in kindergarden "Harry the fairy" "Scary Harry" "Harry's Hairy!"
Nonononono, I won't have it, and I don't want to call my kid JR or little Harry or anything like that. I hate the name, I absolutly hate it, I love him, but I hate the name, more then anything. & every fight we ever have, it could be about dishes and it ends with "Why would I wanna be with someone who won't name their kid after me."
Sorry for all the cursing, I'm sooooo pissed off.
What would you do? Cave and give your kid a name, you can't stand?

I don't blame you , but I would want to agree on a name...see if you can get him to meet you half way.

Nope... I'm not a fan of Juniors either... I think it's weird to have 2 people with the same name.

that totally sux that ur fighting over a name. kinda lame IMO.
Our oldest son has the same first name as DH. I wasn't to thrilled about that. But once he was born I couldn't have imagined him with any other name.

Yeah I caught it and I don't like it at all so I understand why you feel the way you do.
But if it was me, I would probably just cave in eventually if it caused my SO that much anguish, lol.

no i wouldnt name my kid harry. maybe use cooper harry instead i dunno

Have you tried asking him if we name him Harry Cooper I can Call him "insert name"
My BD's whole male family has the same birth name but different nicknames.
They go by Ned, Neil, and Noah.

I tried, I said we'd use Harry for a middle name, or Harry-Cooper for a middle name, and he could call him it24/7 and he said no way if his name isn't Harry Cooper O'Neil (with no add-ons) we aren't having any more kids.
It's been on-going since we were dating, he'll never budge. & I refuse to break up over a name, but I am deff not using that name.
