I fucking hate it, it seems like not a big deal, but it is. I hate the name. My daughter's name, I love, I spent AGES picking it out, countless nights on babynames.com

I don't want to just hand my son a name, that I don't even like.

... Did he have any say in your daughter's name? It sounds like you did all the work and got to name your daughter... is it really unfair to let him name your son?

No, he loved the name Brooke, our daughters name was a compromise but it took months and months of thought

I think that you need to change the way that you are looking at the situation. I was always a fan of usual names. After a series of deaths in my family, i named my daughter Lorelai Kathleen. Lorelai after my mom and Kathleen after my aunt. It is not that I am such a fan of these names so much. What I am a fan of is the people that those names represent. My mom and aunt are so important to me, when they are gone, I get to have a living reminder of all that i love about each of them in my baby girl. Naming your child after his father,the man you love, especially if it means so much to him, should be a honor.

I agree... and I bet that's how your fiance thinks about it... So for you to not want to name your kid after him is insulting to him... if you see what I mean?

I refused to have a junior, but it didn't even come up until I was pregnant. Also, the only reason I didn't want it was because his sister's fiance's name is the same as my husband and there boy is a junior. So there would've been 4 people in the family with the same name.

Kinda silly to fight over it though, especially when you are not TTC or pregnant.

i dont bend over backwards for him, i choose my battles. i KNOW i wont win this name thing. i dont like his name either, his middle name especially. its Saintaubin. Not Saint Aubin or even Saint-Aubin... its terrible but he wants his son to have that name. so i just iight fuck it, i wont win and im not tryin to argue about that shit every day, so i come up with a cute NN and keep it moving. when it comes to other things like our kids going to private school that i wont budge on, he knows he better shut up and work an extra shift if thats what it takes because I wont budge.
