feeling down

So I just had my baby a week ago and she is fantastic. But I feel like I've lost my life. I love being a mom but I feel like I'm trapped in my house. Any advice? Anyone else feel this way?

Yup I def. felt that way too. Try to get out and go places, with and without the baby. Take naps. Read books. Talk on the phone to friends. Find things to keep you busy, besides the baby! If it gets really bad, see your dr. I had to and it helped!

I felt that way after i gave birth to my son.I felt like i was doing it all and so on.I talked to my ob about and she told me i was suffering from ppd.Im now on meds and feel great.Congrats on ur new baby and please dont go through this alone!

Try to do things like you used to do and see if you can incorporate the baby.

Well, she's still pretty young to be having out and about a lot, but believe me, the first three months go by quickly.

Well its hard to leave because I had a c section and I'm still recovering and also with the flu going around I don't want her to get sick. And I can't drive for another 2 weeks because of medication. I just don't want to feel like I'm getting depressed! I love my baby and my husband and life I just feel like I'm closed in a box right now. Maybe l will try to find some hobby that will keep my mind off it?

That's a good idea. I take lots of pics and scrapbook. I'm also in school so that keeps me busy.

I don't know about having a c-section but I was never worried about her getting the flu but I guess because all that swine flu is going around now as to then but I don't think a baby should be shielded from germs IMO

Yeah you should work on your baby album that's what I was doing. Or call your friends over since you can't leave and have a girls night. Me and my friend hung out every monday night when I was on maternity leave and watched Secret Life.

i felt the same way. like a prisoner. i had lochlan in july so when i was better from my c section i would go for walks. it gets easier over time. you start going out more and i actually make it a goal to do something everyday. whether it be going to walmart, visiting a friend, going on a long drive somewhere... being stuck inside is not good for anyone, so get fresh air.
hes 4 months and keeps me soooo busy now that i never get a min to feel bored, but as said hes easier to take out and do stuff with.
