BF'ing and Clothes

posted 1st Nov
I plan on staying home and not working when Lil is born.

I'm just trying to think of what type of gear I'll need for myself for nursing.

I shouldn't need nursing gowns if I just plan on staying home, right? I'm thinking I could probably just get away with getting a few nursing bras or tank tops and calling it a day.

I guess what information I'm needing is, for those of you SAHMs who BF, what kind of clothes, etc did you get for yourself?

* I also already put nursing pads and a boppy on my registry too.

And for going out, did you just wear a regular shirt with a nursing bra or tank, or did you get nursing shirts?

Sorry if this seems sporadic or something.. I can't keep my thoughts straight ATM

I just wear regular clothes. I bought nursing bras and stuff but just regular shirts. I usually wear like a v-neck tee so its easy to just pop my boob out over the top of the shirt and feed her. If the shirt is too high up then you just lift it from the bottom to feed the baby. tanks are wonderful in the summer too because you can just pop your boob out.

I wear whatever at home, b/c I can just pull my shirt up, or even just pull it off.

I don't care for nursing tops. They're expensive, and not very attractive. I look for tops that work well. I have quite a few that cross in the front- they work great.

Right now online, Old Navy has a bunch of nursing tops for $10! They're not the cutest, but they're cute enough, haha.

i have nursing bra's and that's about it... lol i wear my normal shirts when i stay home. i mean i'm in the privacy and warmth of my own home....so there is no need for me to have special nursing shirts that keep my covered... lol but when i do go out i have a few nursing tanks that i wear under a sweater so i can nurse him when i'm out....

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out what the cheapest way to go with clothes is. I don't wanna blow a ton of money if I can just find a cheaper way to do it, haha.

I had two nursing bras and one tank, but I would have like to get another tank. As for shirts I just wore shirts that were loose enough I could pull up, or shirts that criss-crossed in the front so I could pull it down from the top (I only had a couple that I could pull down) Tanks are nice because you don't have to worry about your tummy showing. I bought a nursing gown, but I hated it. It had like two slits in the front with a panel in between, it was a pain in the ass to use, I would suggest a night gown that you can pull down, or just wear a nursing tank to bed.

The best thing I found was nursing tanks from target. I wear them only (well withpants)around the house then when I leave the house I put a shirt on over it.

I only ever wear nursing bras in public; at home I just pull up (or down) my regular bra.
