terrified

posted 1st Nov
I am seriously in tears right now because my son has been exposed to the swine flu. He is fine right now but if he does get it, im terrified that his will be serious because he is only in the 5th-10th percentile in weight and height. Do you think that smaller babies have a higher chance of dying from the flu or is that not a factor at all. He is 15 months and otherwise healthy.

No. As long as he is healthy.. size has no matter.

How do you know he was exposed to it? He should be fine.

My son is 12 months and has the swine flu, and is only in the 25th percentile-it really sucks, but he is finally on the mend-we hope.If you worry about everything then you won't have the reserves to care for yours when they need you, imo.

OMG if you only knew. He had pnemonia a month ago and I broke down to the point of constant panic attacks. I have always been a worrier. My husband had to take over a lot with our son. It was terrible, which is another reason why I am scared about the flu season. I want to put him in a protective bubble!

Oh trust me I have 3 kids and was alone with them for 8 days, 6 of which my 12 month old spiked fevers to 104 and was either lethargic or crying-it really does suck, but you need to be strong.

One thing i have learned after having 7 kids. You want to protect them.. all you can.. and thats normal but being obsessed with every little new virus or whatever.. DOES NOTHING to help. as long as your son is healthy He should and more then likely will be A-OK. other then getting alittle cough or runny nose.. thats probally all he will get. I had 4 kids come down with it. and other 3 only had slight fevers and little coughing. Dont stress to much momma..
