What should I get?

posted 1st Nov
So I think that a Boppy looks more comfortable but my mum keeps trying to talk me into a My breast friend.

What are your ladies opinions on one or both?

I love the boppy. HOWEVER, my SIL has my brest friend. I visited and used it to nurse. HOLY CRAP, that thing is awesome!!! I say GET BOTH!

The boppy is great for sitting and propping the baby and the Brest friend is awesome for nursing.

How is the breast friend different for nursing? I'm curious, I don't know what it is or what the difference is

I got a Boppy after I had already stopped breastfeeding but I wish I would've had it! Plus I use it all the time now to prop Hayden up so he can sit up better, it has waaaay more uses that just for breastfeeding.

The brest friend is a flat surface with a slightly raised 'pillowish' pad. It goes completely around your body and fastens with a clip so it offers back support too. I have big boobs (dd/e) and with the bobby I felt like it wasn't enough support and I would still need to use my hand to hold my boob. HOWEVER, the brest friend held the baby well enough, and close enough to my body and I could sit hands free.

Oh, wow! That does sound handy.

I may look into one of those if I ever get to have another. I'm keeping my Boppy, for sure, but that sounds great.

I read some of the reviews on amazon for the brest friend, it seems like it would work good, but I don't know how convenient it is to use. I had a boppy and I really liked it, it was easy to just grab and position, also you can use it when your little one starts sitting up to support them.
Maybe like someone else said get both, you could register for them (if you haven't had your shower yet)

I'd say the brestfriend. It has a firmer (yet soft) surface for the baby and an upraised spot on both ends for their head, so you don't have to rest your hand underneath. It also has a handy pouch on it for a burpcloth, phone, drink and other items you might need. It also has lower back support for you. Also the cover removes easily for easy washing.

It was designed by moms and lactation consultants. They Le leche league also highly reccomends it over Boppys for proper support and latching.

Breast friend, hands down.

The boppy was a pain in the ass to nurse on and I could never get it to the right level, I always had to kind of prop it up THEN use it.

The breast friend, however, you dont have to worry about juggling the baby and holding your boob or anything. It straps around you and you can adjust it so it fits at the right spot AND you can walk around with it, which would be impossible with the boppy.
