iud question

I'm getting my mirena iud put in Wednesday but i started my period today and i have a very heavy periodand last up to a week . My doctor didn't say anything on being on my period or anything to have it put in.So my question is do i have to reschedule or go in while on my period?

It'll be easier, because your cervix will be dilated a bit. As long as you don't mind, I'm sure your dr won't either.
