Crib question

posted 1st Nov
I know you're not supposed to use blankets or anything in the crib until your baby's older (I don't remember how old, but that's not the point right now, lol).
One of my friends said she stored extra baby clothes and blankets at the end of her son's crib when he wasn't able to move around on his own.
Is this safe to do? If the baby can't move on their own would it matter?

No, it's not safe... they can still wiggle their little newborn butts down there.

That's what I was thinking.
As long as they can't roll over or scoot I don't see a problem with it.
I just don't want to miss anything that could be important! Preggo brain makes me oblivious to a lot of things.

this is more of a question for yourself. if you are comfortable with it go ahead. other mommys wouldnt even attempt it. my son rarely slept in his crib but when he did, i had things in there with him. i covered him since the day he was born

Ooh, I didn't know they can wiggle that far.
I've honestly never been around a newborn, so my little man will be a first
My mom said it'd be fine, but she was also in the days of putting babies to sleep on their tummies with blankets over them, so I don't trust some of her advice.

Knowing that, I think I'm gonna just get storage bins for under his crib now rather than later.

BTW: sticky dust to youuuuuu!

i did that and my sons fine. most babies were fine in the older days. its every mothers own issue. if you feel comfortable with it, sure, if you dont feel comfortable then dont do it

I don't feel comfortable with it just because of the increased risk for SIDS.
I know I'm fine, so is my brother, and so are all my cousins. But I'm just paranoid lol.
I know I might change my mind once I get to know my little guy, though I doubt it.
