HOW PAINFUL IS GETTING THE EPIDURAL

I SEE HOW THE MOTHERS ON TV ARE IN PAIN WHILE GETTING THE EPIDURAL SO IS CAUSE OF THE CONTRACTIONS OR THE EPIDURAL ITSELF??

Not bad....IMHO.
Depends on the anesthesiologist.

It was just a pinch,contractions are way worse. I heard if they place it wrong it can feel like death though.

omfg that shit hurt to bad, i felt every bit of the wire going in  

Getting the iv in my hand was by far worse

It was painful for me because the anesthesiologist was a prick. But, I was happy afterward!

between the contractions, it was nothing.

For me it felt wonderful. I actually told the lady to leave the needle in my back because it felt so good. I guess it's not like that for everyone but for me it didn't hurt at all. Contractions suck though, lol.

Probably because of the contractions, they give you a local first so you don't even really feel it. I didn't even realize he had put it in yet bc I was so focused on my contractions lol.

I had a spinal *almost the same* and it hurt really bad   But Im very sensitive in my back.

All I felt was relief! I don't remember the epi hurting at all.

My contractions hurt so bad that the epidural felt like nothing

My contractions were so freaking strong at that point that I didn't even care, getting it really wasn't that bad up until he got caught up on one of my vertebrae (sp?) and kept poking trying to get around, but once I felt the relief I didn't really mind lol

IMO, it was more painful getting the IV.

it's nothing compared to the contractions..the worst part of it was the numbing they do before the put the catheter in..it stings like a bee sting..but like I said, it's NOTHING compared to the contractions
