Put oil of oregano (health food stores) or baby vicks vaporub on his feet and then socks overtop. I know it sounds crazy but it works like a hot damn. My son has asthma when he gets sick and when I do that he breaths a lot easier.

I found out Motrin works better than tylenol for fevers. I had always heard the opposite, but when my son was sick last month the docs said use Motrin. It also lasts longer.

I'd be kinda careful about putting him in a hot room with steam, as that could potentially increase his temp. Do you have a cool mist humidifier?

Call your pediatrician hotline too....they will be able to tell you if he needs to be seen or not.

He needs a cool bath, getting that temp down is more important then the mucous.

I agree. And cool means COOL. I tried giving my son a kinda lukewarm bath, and it just made his temp go up. I had to break down and put him in cool, almost cold water. He was not happy, but it worked. And use that Infant Motrin! It works - I swear by it!!!

No problem...their first illness is scary.   I hope he feels better soon. Good idea with the juice. Give him lots of fluids (juice is better than formula while he is stuffy). You can even get some Pedialyte if he isn't drinking a lot....just put it in the bottle/cup and have him drink as much as he wants. Poor little guy. Hope he gets better asap!

well I got his temp down to "normal" and the nurse said that they can't really do anything for him. So I am letting just play on the floor with his toys and Im going to check on his temp like every hour or so. The nurse said I'm doing everything right so I will just keep him cool and happy as best I can.

Thank you mommas you are such a big help everytime I need yous
