Anti-bf in public is anti-child

posted 31st Oct
I'm taking a book from the George Carlin playbook with my topic here.

Just as he says pro-life is anti woman, I say anti-bf in public is anti-child.

Why?

People who are uncomfortable having to see a breast in public are putting their needs ahead of that of the child that is being fed. They care more about themselves than the fact that they would be inconveniencing a child that needs nourishment by asking that child to wait while the mother finds a more suitable place to feed.

Discuss.

I always figured that if someone was offended by me feeding my child in public that's their problem.

Meh, just as being pro-choice doesn't make you pro-abortion, I wouldn't go so far as to call it "anti-child" although it is incredibly selfish and sad. Really, I don't get the big deal about how people could be offended to see a boob in public.

I very much agree. A tit's only biological function is to feed.

I am not anti-breastfeeding in public. I breastfeed in public but what i do is put a blanket over myself. I believe it is more respectful to other people and their young children and teenage boys. So a breatfeeding mother in public i am all about, womenwho decided not to try and cover thenselves i am a little against.

I think they should feed wherever they want, however i personally feel if they are in a very public place, with children, men, ect. that they should cover up a little bit.
I think it's a little inappropriate to have your entire breast showing if you're in a mall or applebees. I think just a small wrap, or blanket, or even most nursing shirts are just fine.
There shouldn't be anything banning a woman from breastfeeding in public, i just think they should use a little discresion.

Why is the discomfort of adults more important than the comfort of a baby, or young child?

I constantly hear elsewhere that children are the most important... does that only extend so far as things we're comfortable with?

Every single argument ends up being about the adults, the people who have to see it.

The focus should NOT be there. It should be on the child being fed. What is best for that child. That is it.

Why would you want to inconvenience a little baby because you don't want to see a breast?

No way. If someone is offended by my engorged breasts as I'm feeding my child, then I have the right to be offended by their outright stupidity.

I don't think that anyone should. And that is why a mother does/ should have the riht to feed her child whenever and wherever that child gets hungry.
And IMO they shouldn't cover up for the comfort of others, but to prevent the lewd thoughts from others. Society has made breasts very sexual, and a teenage boy dosen't think "oh, shes feeting her child" most of the time they will think "man, she's got huge tits....hey john, look at the tits on her!"

I was doing something thinking just a few minutes ago about this whole issue. You know what I see more women showing breasts and a whole lot more for no reason at all other then trying to look "sexy" which they are not. Yet there is no one trying to stop them. At least women breastfeeding have a reason to expose themselves to the world

I dont care about other people lol at all.

My daughters need to eat is my concern. Why make them eat with a blanket on their head?? Where is their respect?
