For breastfeeding mommies...

posted 31st Oct
I've breastfed only because it was the most important thing for a preemie to have in my opinion for antibodies but he is now almost 3 months old and I was wondering... Could I switch to formula part time? Like formula during the day, breast milk at night? Also..Is there any organic formulas? Or a formula specifically for high risk or premature babies?

thats what i did, when my daughter turned 3 months i started givin her a little formula during the day nd breastfed only at night bt now my daughter is majority on formula.

im not sure about the formulas, i know there is organic formula tho. i use nestle good start, gentle plus. it helps them digest it easier. - well thats what its made to do.

that will seriously hurt your supply, and some babies can't get past the taste if they are use to breast milk.

yeah my supply went down so thats why i pretty much just went to formula, but my daughter was satisfied for another 2 weeks but i just kept pumping and that helped.what i did was mix the formula and breastmilk together, to start out i did like 1oz formula nd the rest breast, then 2oz formula, so on so on.

if you give formula your supply will diminsh a ton, and you prob. wont be able to bf even if you watned to at night.

why do you want to switch to formula? organic is over 30$/can. why not pump?
