Self esteem with my teeth please Help me

posted 30th Oct
So when I was 12 I got into a relly bad fourwheeler accident. And I messed my front two teeth up really bad. My family didnt have the money to fix them. I am so shy because of it I dont talk to anybody that I dont know. I feel like every wheres I go people are looking a my teeth and nothing else. I have a 3 1/2 year old she asked me what was wrong with my teeth. I dont have no self esteem at all because of it. I dont smile in my pictures. I dont work because of it. And now my 3 1/2 year old is in school and I feel like the other mothers look at me funny and her teachers. If anyone could tell me what to do to feel better about myself I would love to hear another people talk to me.Thanks for reading my story

If it would make you more comfortable look into getting them fixed. Many places have payment plans.

Ugh you sound like me. My mom paid $4,500 for my braces. My teeth came out straight, and then i stopped wearing my retainer. They have gone back to the way they were to begin with.

Have you looked into how much it would cost to correct it now? If it bothers you so much it may be worth working to pay for. In the mean time try not to let your self conciousness show to your daughter you want her to know inner beauty is much more important than whats on the outside

My mom went to the dentist. got her front teeth pulled, and got a mouth piece fake teeth thing to put in her mouth with just those teeth on it. Cost like 1000 i think. But she got to make payment.

I had lots of issues with my teeth over the years. It's cost me a fortune, but now they're perfect.....well worth the investment! Good luck, I know how you feel.

Alot of dentist have this Care Credit card. It's a credit card that you use at the dentist. I know how you feel though, I broke a semi front one eating starburst and didn't have insurance, and didn't have 500 dollars to fix it and I thought everyone was looking at me funny, ( it was chiped on the side but a big chip) I also didn't smile. I found a dentist that let me make payments on it.

I want to see them too. They are probably way worst to you, then they actually are. Especially since you are self conscious about it.

I have 'bad' teeth too.
I just grew to accept it as a part of who I am. I don't smile for pictures but I don't feel judged. If you aren't going to talk to me or something just because I have 'bad' teeth, then you just really aren't worth my precious time.

There are"free clinics" or super budget places. There is one in my area that helps people because it's such a health concern as well as a cosmetic issue as well. I know a woman who was heavily addicted to meth and her teeth were a mess. This place actually had to full all of her teeth and do implants but still, because she was low income, it was free to her. She could eat which was important because she was so thin from not being able to eat well. Also if you are on medicaid, the dental should be free to you. Look into your health plan to see what they cover. There is no reason you should continue to suffer!

PS I just looked at your profile and you are so pretty. I really feel bad that you have had to go this long with a problem with your teeth.

My mom was in her late 40's when she got braces. She was on a payment plan. She'd never smile...now you can't get a pic without her smiling. I will have to have braces mroe than likely soon as well. Look around, I know the medical card does some dental. Just not sure how much.
